STRETCHES

There are two different types of Stretches

PASSIVE - Performed by the Handler  (the horse must be relaxed)

ACTIVE - Requires the horse to actively carry out the stretch themselves, either ridden, in hand or with the use of carrots or grass.

**Remember**

  • Horses muscles MUST be warmed up before carrying out stretches.
  • NEVER Force a stretch, the horse must be relaxed.
  • Only Perform stretches if it is safe to do so both for yourself & the horse.

Stretching is an important part of any horses fitness regime,
